Free Monthly Legal Clinic for Veterans in Anchorage
ALSC and the Alaska Veterans Affairs host a free legal clinic in Anchorage at the VA Office once a month. Keeping Families Together
Our staff preserves military families wherever possible through civil legal aid. We advise or represent eligible veterans who want guardianship or adoption for dependent children. We may assist with divorce, separation, child custody or support disputes. More information about family law issues is available on the ALSC family law page.
ALSC helps veterans access and retain government benefits so they can keep food on their table and a roof over their heads. Legal services can be provided when government benefits are wrongfully denied, inaccurately calculated, or improperly terminated. Additionally, we may be able to help eligible Alaskans who are trying to obtain unemployment insurance, food stamps, Medicaid/Medicare and other public assistance.
Our attorneys represent individuals and families who face consumer law matters by providing legal advice and assistance. Additionally, help can be provided for Federal bankruptcy protection, unlawful debt collection practices prevention, overcoming illegal sale contracts or warranties, and preventing utility terminations. More information is available on the ALSC consumer law page.
