Why did you choose to volunteer with ALSC?
I chose to volunteer with the ALSC Landlord Tenant Hotline because I enjoy being able to provide practical, straightforward guidance on a topic that is a common source of confusion and stress in the day-to-day lives of many community members.
What are some of your experiences at ALSC that have made a positive difference in the lives of others and the community?
It’s rewarding to hear feedback from callers that, aside from receiving guidance regarding the Landlord Tenant Act, simply having someone to listen to their concerns and talk through the potential issues and outcomes is greatly appreciated.
How do you think your experiences with ALSC will benefit you in the future?
Staffing the hotline involves responding to a diverse group of callers from across Alaska in real time. I now have a greater sense of some of the most common concerns on both sides of the LLT relationship and hope to be able to continue to provide pro bono services in this field in the future.
Is there anything else you would like to share with our readers?
I play the banjo and enjoy long runs/walks/skis with my six month old sled dog puppy.
