In 1968 ALSC lawyers recruited through the VISTA program began to arrive in Alaska. Gordon Stein (pictured) moved from Washington and was assigned to the Nome office with Secretary-Interviewer Lela Oman. Laurel Bland, who helped open the Nome Office, served as technical consultant and liaison to the Nome Office from Anchorage.
