Alaska Legal Services Corporation is recruiting for a Part-Time (20 hours per week) or Full-Time
(35 hours per week) Communications & Development Manager in ALSC’s Anchorage office
(hours dependent on applicant preference) to oversee all internal and external communications
strategies that support sharing ALSC’s mission, vision and values. This includes but is not limited
to the management of all print and digital communications, social media platforms, ALSC websites,
ALSC electronic communications, press releases, fundraising events, online giving campaigns,
message creation/storytelling, and generating, editing, publishing and sharing daily content to
build meaningful connections. The Communications & Development Manager plays an important
role in furthering our mission and engaging with donors, stakeholders, and our community,
promoting and communicating ALSC’s work to our community of supporters and gathering future
supporters. The Communications & Development Manager also supports media relations, fund
research, grant writing, and development, from concept to execution, in collaboration with ALSC’s
Leadership Team.
Required: Computer proficiency (Windows operating system, Microsoft Office, Google
Workspace, Internet, e-mail, data entry, , Google Analytics and AdWords, donor databases, and
WordPress); Proven working experience in social media marketing using various social media
channels; Excellent verbal and written communications, editing, and presentation skills; Successful
fundraising, development, or similar experience; Ability to take full ownership of assigned
tasks/projects and work independently as well as collaboratively; and strong organizational, time
management skills with high attention for detail.
Highly Desired: The ideal candidate will have a bachelor’s degree in communications, Public
Relations, Marketing, or related field; a strong background in graphic design; prior experience
working in the nonprofit sector; and familiarity with cross-cultural situations.
Salary $31,319-46,977 DOE (Part-Time); $54,945-82,415 DOE (Full-Time). Generous benefits
and leave package provided, including partial reimbursement of relocation expenses. Personal
leave begins at six weeks per year for a full-time employee. ALSC observes 15 paid holidays.
