Alaska Legal Services Corporation is seeking an attorney to provide advice and assistance to other staff attorneys in litigation-related matters.  ALSC has 35 lawyers in twelve locations around the state, working in a wide range of subject areas that affect our clients.  Position will likely be based in Fairbanks, Juneau or Anchorage, but other Alaskan locations will be considered.

ALSC is committed to achieving justice for all Alaskans through community-led advocacy.  Litigation is one way we advance our mission, and ALSC attorneys have worked on many of the most important cases affecting low-income Alaskans over the last 55 years. The Litigation Support Attorney will be responsible for assisting other ALSC staff attorneys with their litigation, from providing quick assistance on discrete matters to co-counseling cases. The Litigation Support Attorney will also be responsible for identifying training needs and planning trainings on litigation topics.

A background in public interest law is preferred but not required. At least three years of litigation experience is required. Applicants should either be admitted to practice law in Alaska or admitted to practice in another state and eligible for an Alaska Bar Rule 43 Waiver. Information on Bar Rule 43 can be found at http://www.alaskabar.org.

ALSC is proud to be an equal opportunity employer. We are committed to building a culturally diverse workplace and strongly encourage women, persons of color, LGBTQ individuals, veterans, persons with disabilities, and persons from other underrepresented groups to apply. To apply, submit resume, writing sample, and list of three professional references to Leigh Dickey, Advocacy Director, at ldickey@alsc-law.org. Please include “Statewide Litigation Attorney” in the subject line.

Salary is $54,576 to $77,688 per year, depending on experience.  Generous leave and benefits package, including partial reimbursement of relocation expenses, is available.
