Community Advocate Program

The ALSC Community Advocate Program is happy to announce that our “Intro to Debt Collection Defense” course is now live! This course covers the basics of the FDCPA and helps advocates become knowledgeable in identifying bad collection practices so that they can assist community members and help make good referrals to ALSC for further assistance. The courses are all online and done at your own pace. We ask that anyone taking them commit to assisting at least 1 ALSC client with that specific legal issue. The courses are free to those who make commitment to assist others with their newly obtained legal training. If you are interested in getting involved, know someone who might be interested, or are looking for more information, contact ALSC senior staff attorney Sarah Carver at: scarver@alsc-law.org
