Alaska Legal Services Corporation has an opening for a full-time attorney in Dillingham, to provide estate planning and probate services to Bristol Bay Native Corporation shareholders. Estate planning services may include advice, research, investigation, and drafting and execution of wills, advance health care directives, and powers of attorney, and other documents necessary to meet a member’s estate planning needs. The attorney will create and distribute educational materials addressing estate planning, fractionation and probate, and conduct outreach efforts including travel to Bristol Bay villages and hosting clinics to encourage shareholders to draft wills and address fractionation.
Applicants must be admitted to practice law in Alaska or admitted to practice in another state and eligible for an Alaska Bar Rule 43 waiver. Computer proficiency required, (Windows, Microsoft Office, Internet, e-mail and data entry). Experience working or living in cross-cultural settings preferred.
Preference in hiring given to Native American applicants.
