Alaska Legal Services Corporation has an opening for a full-time attorney in Bethel, funded through a Department of Justice Violence Against Women Act grant. The staff attorney will be part of a unique pilot project that provides legal representation to victims of domestic violence and sexual assault in various civil proceedings in the Yukon-Kuskokwim Delta area and that also seeks to build capacity of the tribal courts in the region in addressing domestic violence issues. The attorney will work under the supervision of ALSC’s Rural Supervising Attorney, and will work closely with the staff of the Tundra Women’s Coalition and with the Association of Village Council Presidents.

Experience working with victims of domestic violence/sexual assault, preferred but not required. Computer proficiency required (Windows operating system, Microsoft Office, Internet, e-mail, and data entry).
Salary $58,848 — $81,840 per year DOE. Generous personal leave and benefits package, including partial reimbursement of relocation expenses, provided.
